While my appetite for ferocious headlong rushing can wane, the hurly-burly is never done. I’m lucky to have encountered so many wonderful people that can replenish my capacity. Thank you for this, today.
You are chief cheerleader of the hurly-burly, as you inspire me constantly with your creativity, generosity, and oh-so-infectious laugh! Bless your life! xx
Oof, I have been feeling this so deeply of late. I've been wandering through the same endless linkedin job posts and feeling the oppressive weight of endless, purposeless growth, walking hand in hand with endless consumption both physical and digital. But I love the reminder to return to what I'm for. A living and a life is perfect.
Estelle! I'm so sorry that you've had to navigate the daunting waters of Linkedin as well. I believe so firmly in your art and expression... the world needs more of your authentic voice and power! xx
Sending love and sharing my anger and sadness from far away. I look forward to seeing where everyone lands. The world is so lucky to receive all of these extremely talented and passionate people.
You are the queen of all queens, Grits! I love you so much. I'm currently reveling in all that the world has to offer beyond what we knew from those experiences!
Yes. So much yes to all of this. I find myself in my own struggle with the Never Enoughness as a tech worker who is watching all this unfold. I find myself wanting to find the meaning instead of getting caught up in the Always More. These are questions that my colleagues in user experience are asking as well: did people actually ask for this? is it something that fills a need, or just acquires more wealth momentarily?
Thank you for always speaking truth. Yay on more talkbacks, because you are a gifted facilitator and I always love being part of them, and will continue to do so as long as I'm able. Walking beside you in solidarity and cheering you on to be the amazing you that you yourself are.
Jess! Ooof the "Never Enoughness" and the "Always More" = such poignant phrasing. I am so heartened and relieved to know that you, and people like you, are still present in these fields to keep the human and humane intact. Thank you for your kind words, and for your magnificent mind and heart. Bless your life! xx
This is not a post. It's not just a testimonial, or even a beautiful text on the state of the world. This is a manifesto. A profession of faith. Your words, Ilana, resonate with me and, I'm sure, with many others. There are hundreds, thousands of us, who share your sentiment. The world is sick. We've forgotten that progress and innovation are two different things, and that "growth" is not an end in itself. This race is absurd.
We must join the resistance. Each with our own resources, means and vital energy. Some fight; others, like you, create. Both require courage. And I thank life, heaven, the cosmos or whatever, that you and others - those who are called "artists" - devote your lives to cultivating what is most magical, precious and fragile in all of us.
Recent events have dealt you a heavy blow. But it's just a setback. Now is the time for resilience. Remember Van Gogh's words: "I prefer the melancholy that hopes and aspires to the dull, sad melancholy that despairs." (for once that sounds better in French!)
And let them get excited on LinkedIn: life is elsewhere, as Kundera wrote.
Carry on, Ilana. Keep creating. Keep writing. Keep loving. Keep dancing in the chaos. Keep being the amazing you.
Grégoire! Thank you for these delicious, inspiring words. I'm keeping these phrases and fermenting them for safekeeping: "cultivating what is most magical, precious and fragile in all of us" & "keep dancing in the chaos". Bless your seeing, bless the artist that lives so deeply and proudly within you, and bless your life! xx
Ilana, your words are so raw and beautiful—they really hit me. When we’re in a comfortable place, it’s easy to grow complacent. But when our world is rocked, we’re forced to truly look at what’s happening around us and how we’re moving through it. You reminded me of something deep and true: at our core (and in your words), "we are made of stardust, of water, of earth. We are bare-toothed kindling."
Julie: my fire sister in this long walk home down the extraordinary path of Life! Thank you for these beautiful words. Sending you the biggest hug. Bless your life! xx

Thank you so much Ilana! And right back at you! I hope we both escape the Linkedin hunt soon and find something fabulous and creative.
